LocHal wins award

Tilburg’s LOCHAL project has been named WORLD BUILDING OF THE YEAR 2019 at the World Architecture Festival! We recently received this award in Amsterdam, during WasteBuild. Naturally, this award also celebrates circular, sustainable architecture with Jansen systems!

Jury notes on the winning project: “This project transformed an important building that had been scheduled for demolition, creating a physical space where a wide variety of users can meet for many different purposes, a real social meeting place. It celebrates and makes smart use of the area’s history in textile production and is based on a climate regulation strategy aimed at heating and cooling people, rather than the building. It offers its users a wide array of spaces of different sizes for communal and more intimate use.”
